Barlow Pre-school is a non profit-making charitable organisation with professional full time staff and run by a committee of parents.

 

As an approved Early Years Education Establishment we receive funding from Derbyshire County Council Education Service for 3 and 4 year olds, but depend heavily on the participation of parents to support our staff and raise the essential additional funding required to make our Pre-School the best possible environment for the children to learn and play.

 

In addition to parents, our fundraising effort is generously supported by members of the Barlow community and local businesses. 

 

LATEST OFSTED REPORT - 11th September 2007

 

Following the latest OFSTED inspection we’re delighted to announce that Barlow Pre-School got a very positive report. The inspection sets out OFSTEDS judgements about the quality of our provision.

 

The overall rating was ‘Good’, defined by OFSTED as the aspects of the provision rated were strong.

 

An extract of the conclusion of the report was:

 

“This is a strong provision. It is successful at making sure that the outcomes for children are positive. The childcare practice is effective. Children are in the care of qualified, experienced staff that strongly support them to ensure they are happy and settled in the pre-school.”
